Nice article, I’ve got to say I agree with most of it.
Most modern participants in martial arts systems learn or teach that outfighting (such as kickboxing) is not effective against someone with a bit of skill in grappling or wrestling.
For that reason, moves from the clinch like elbow strikes are indispensable - they are in the middle between stand-up fighting and full-on grappling, wrestling, or clinch techniques.
However, most of all I figured out from this article is that I need more practice time. Thanks.
